   morning in O'Brien's shop in Abbey Street I lost my purse and I should be grateful if you would make enquiries about it.

   It was a small brown Morroco[n?] leather circular-shaped bag with my initials stamped on the flap and contained two five-pound notes, three one-pound, notes and my grandmother's ring. There was nothing inside by which the owner might be identified.

   I entered the store about 10 a.m. and missed the purse about 11 a.m. when I required it to pay for my purchases. During the hour I visited almost every department in the shop and have no recollection of leaving it behind at any one counter. The manager of the Store is aware of my loss and will I feel sure give you every enquiries
