- There are many signs of the weather believed in locally
1. A common one is held that when the lake (i.e. Lake Sheelin) roars towards Finea the weather will be bad.
2. If it roars towards Crover on the other hand the weather will be good.
3. If the floors are inclined to be dusty local people believe that it will rain shortly.
4. If the train can be heard (from Ballywillan station) bad weather is expected.
5. In farm-houses if the home-cured bacon sweats, wet weather is expected.
