    Mummers visit houses. They play Frenchfiddles and dances. They get money for dancing and playing. Sometimes they dress in ladies clothes and wear false faces. They say or sing the following - The wren the wren the king of all birds
    On Stephens day she was caught in a burr.
    Up with the kettle and down with the pan.
    A penny or two pence to bury the wren.
    The are usually consorts and dances held on that night. Sain Stephens day is cept as a Bank holiday and the post office is closed on
