  1. The Cow.
    These are the animals we have at home four horses, one donkey, seven cows, six cats, pigs, calves, and one dog.
    The cowhouse is fairly big. It is called a byre. The cows are tied by a chain which is put round their necks. Sometimes cows are tied by the legs to keep them from kicking.
    The tyings are not made at home. Some people hang a branch in the byre to bring luck on the stock. Some people put the sign of the cross on the cow's back with the foam of
