Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Warts. People used to rub a snail to them, then buried it. Also if they chanced to come upon a hollow in a rock filled with water they used to wash their hands, and they would be cured. Also if they were walking on the road, they used pick up so many small stones as warts they would have and make parcel of them, then leave it on the road and whoever finds it is said that they will get the warts.
    Corns. They used walk barefoot on the bog or onthe dewy grass, or apply the leaf known as the Penny-leaf to them.
    Stye. They used look through a gold ring, and bless themselfs or they used to get a thorn from a Gooseberry bush, and make the Sign of the Cross with it.
    Earache. They used to pluck a piece of wool off a black and put it in to their ear.
    Croas Gallair. It is said that a child who would be born after his or her father's death could cure it, by blowing his breath down the persons mouth three times and saying In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
    Cuts. They used to put a cobweb to it, or the rough side of the cabbage or an ivy leaf will draw the wound, and the smooth side heal it.
