  2. In nearby every old Irish house there is what is known as Settle-bed. As a general rule one side of the bed is fixed to the wall. The other side is supported by two legs about one foot and nine inches high. From the wall there are run two boards four inches high and two foot five inches wide. One of these boards are mortised into a leg at each end.
