The person who is not strong is cute
A stitch in time saves nine
Hard upon hard makes a bad stone wall but soft upon soft makes none at all.

  2. On last Monday evening the 25th April 1938, a fire broke out in the dwelling house of Captain Hornsby, Killinardrish, Coachford. It broke out about five o'clock and immediately the Fire Brigade was sent for. In about half an hour the Fire Brigade was out with eleven hundred feet of hose. But as there was no water around with in half a mile as they had not enough they sent for more and the received eleven hundred feet more of hose but still they had not enough. Serg Creagh and two Guards from Coachford barrack were quickly on the scene and with about fifty willing helpers saved most of the furniture and other valuable articles. About 6 o'clock the flames were several feet high and about midnight there were huge masses of smoke. Only the four walls remain.
