- There are a great many cures about this district. St Patricks well cures toothache. You say a lot of prayers and drink some of the water. St Marcels well cures cattle. He gets water on a plate and gives you some of it and says prayers and the mote comes out in the water out of your mouth. My father has the cure of the mumps he puts a halter on them and brings them to a stream and gives them three mouthfuls of water.
