- There lived a man in Greencastle many years ago. He lived in the house which Mrs. Gill now lives. He was very bad with lumbago. A woman told his wife of a cure. She told her to put him into a hot churn. So one day she filled the churn with hot water and then she emptied it out again and she put her husband into it. Then she went out to a neighbour's house for some sugar. The woman of the house asked her how John's lumbago was. She had forgotten about leaving John under the churn. So she rushed back home but when she got there John was dead. She could not tell whether the hot churn was a good cure or not.
