- When a couple get married, the wedding feast is usually celebrated in the house of the bride on the night of the wedding. A large number of the friends and relatives of both parties are in attendance and music and dancing are enjoyed. There is also much feasting.
During the night while the dancing is in progress, a number of young men dressed in women's clothes come to the wedding house. They take part in the dancing. They are called "Strawboys" or "Cleathaires". Usually they are asked to take refreshment, but this is generally declined. The leader of them is called the captain.
