Years ago during the "Penal Times" priests were forbidden to say Mass in the Churches. They said Mass in the houses and heard Confessions. It was a great thing when Mass was celebrated in a house. During the "Penal Times" most of the Churches were burned. There was a small church in Kyle burned by the soldiers. Attached to this Church there is a small grave yard. In this Church also there was a holy water font which is near this Church at present. In a field in Ballypracus there is a corner locally known as the "Mass-corner. It is believed that in this corner in the "Penal Times" Mass was celebrated.
