  1. We have some fields called names on account of their construction for instance:- "The flax field" because it is flax. "The round field" There are also fields called after people who lived in them for example - "Sheehans field" "Brophys field". "The bur-knock" because there is naturaly a knock there. "The Slough" because it is naturally a very wet corner. There is a Ratheen on Miss Murphys farm of Cromogue.
