  1. I live in the townsland of Ballinacran. There are six houses in my district. The most common name in my district is Doyle. The houses are slated There are two old people over seventy in my district. There names are Mrs. J. Murphy and Mrs. J. Doyle, Ballinavocran. Years ago houses were more numerous than at present. Some of the ruins are yet to be seen and others are not. The land is hilly and boggy but is good. There is a river flowing between Ballinavocran and Barnahask. called "the clody". There are two streams in Ballinavocran one called Sheils stream and the other called Johnnies stream.
