    bridge was crossed by King James when he fled from the battle of the Boyne. About three hundred yards from this bridge there is a house which is called the buildings. Long ago this place was called the coach station where the people used to change the horses of the stage coach. On this road there is a cross which was put up in memory of Janet Dowdall.
    Another event that happened on the Nanny bridge was a fight between Eamon Tracey and Dermot Harrison. They were both riding on horse-back while they were fighting. Eamon Tracey's horse shied and Tracey cut Harrison in the arm with his sword. Then the two horses shied and they were both thrown into the
