  1. Around our district when doctors were few in the olden times, the people then had to rely mostly on their own cures. Most of the old people with rheumatism say that if one with rheumatism sleeps without a top on his bed the rheumatism will be cured.
    If one should sprain his wrist or his ankle, tie the skin of an eel around it for a while until it stops the pain.
