  1. In olden times traders were practised as to day but years ago most things were done by work of hand and not by machines.
    There were hand looms? around the town but mostely in the Green Lanes. These people wore lovely linen and damask, this hand trade is now obsolete.
    Rope making was also carried on by the people of Drogheda and it is still carried on by Hoyes of the Rope
