  1. There is an old fort situated on the land of Mr Gradwell near Dowth. The name of it is Rathsesskin Fort. It is built on a hill and is of a round shape. It is fenced round the sides by trees and bushes. It is supposed that it was built by the Danes or some of the early people who inhabited Ireland. It is said that some people who were passing one night heard music playing in the fort. It is also said that a light was seen and fairies dancing round it.
