  1. There are very few new roads in Drogheda as Drogheda is an ancient and historic town. Even as far back as Cromwells time our present streets were recorded in history.
    The only road which has changed its direction is the one linking Dublin with Belfast. Instead of running as it does now it was cut at the Dublin Road in a straight line through Laurences St. on to Peters Place round by the back of the present Blue School going still straight to Tullyesker this was portion of the 'Rocky Road to Dublin'
