    Two rows of children take part - an equal number in each row. The players face each other and repeat the following verse as they move backwards + forwards.
    Here we go gathering nuts in May
    Nuts in May, Nuts in May,
    Here we go gathering Nuts in May
    On a cold + frosty morning } Repeated by both rows.
    Who will (be) we have for Nuts in May,
    Nuts in May, nuts in May?
    Who will we have for Nuts in May
    On a cold + frosty morning?} Repeated by one of the rows
    The other row then selects a child out of their own number + recite:-
    We will have Sheila Sullivan for Nuts in May,
    Nuts in May, Nuts in May,
    We will have Sheila Sullivan for Nuts in May,
    On a cold + frosty morning.
