The game goes on until all the players have made their selection and taken their proper places behind the "bridge" girls. Then a tug-of-war takes place and the side that makes the first break is the losing side.

He would easily have come first but when jumping a gate one of the spikes went through his leg, however despite this injury he came in second. MICK and JOHN O'CALLAGHAN, brothers, Lyre, Banteer co. Cork were also famous runners. DAVID O'CALLAGHAN, Lyre, Banteer, Co. Cork, employed as a sorter in a Dublin post office, was a famous footballer.
