  1. A night school was taught by Daniel Lenihan before he started the day school in Meenygrogeen. This night school was held in YorlGrady, Banteer in the house of Arthur Moynihan, father-in-law of Denis Cronin Loughlea, Banteer. Monynihan was caretaker for McCarthy, YorlGrady, and dry cattle were kept on that farm. Moynihan's house was below the Railway Bridge at YorlGrady.
Some of the pupils attending this school were
Con Sullivan Mick Sullivan Patsy Sullivan } brothers
    Paul Linchan and
    Arthur Moynihan-Son of Caretaker
Con Sullivan took Patsy, who was very young, on his back to this Night School.
During the winter nights some kind of oil lamps supplied the light. School was concluded in the kitchen and there was a turf fire. Patsy, owing to his youth, cannot remember the subjects taught (as he) but pupils had to pay for tuition.
