  1. A man named Dan Lehane Glantane, Lombardstown used to be out very late playing cards at a neighbour's house. His father was always advising him to come home early but Dan took no notice.
    One night he was returning home about twelve o'clock and just as he stepped inside the gate of his own yard he met a man dressed in black. The man had a deck of cards in his hand and he held them towards Dan saying "Cut for Deal". Dan got a dreadful fight and rushed in home. He went to bed and died the following week.
