    Griscín = liver of fowl roasted on coal

    Of the Grischin it used be said in fun:
    "Tá sé sgríte ar thóin mo phóca
    An té a chuir síos é ní hé a thógfaidh."
    "Sean Bán, bolg lán, ate mate on Friday."
    "Barley bread would do you good
    Rye bread would do you no harm
    Wheaten bread would sweeten the blood
    Oaten bread would strengthen the arm."
    Oatenmeal was mixed with Buttermilk or thick milk and left over night. Flour was wet with this mixture next day to make bread.
