  1. In the land now occupied by Daniel Linehan Lyredhá-abhann a spirit or Ghost was seen for a few years. She was not apparently of a malignant type, as nobody interfered with her. A woman in the neighbourhood died and from the night of her wake the Ghost was never seen.
    Ellen O'Keeffe of Lyreadowen who died in 1935 had an unnerving experience in the house of Denis Duggan of Eaglanne Cullen. When sleeping in the same bed with a girl named Lehane she felt some object she thought to be a cat creeping over the bed clothes. She called for a light which was brought. It revealed strange movements on the bed clothes. The marks of human knuckles striking the girl who slept with her, at each stroke the girl cried out with pain or fear. No human being could be seen yet the imprints of the strokes continued during a great part of the night. Next night the same
