  1. Thade Murphy who related most of the Irish Stories and verse collected by T. Forde N.T. Coachford between 1909-1924 some of which were published in the "Lócrann" and others forwarded to the Folklore Society in 1924, was born in Cooldaniel, Kilmichael on 14th August 1842 and died at Clonteadmore, Coachford 4th May 1932. He resided many years at Coolacullig where he was employed by Mr J ODwyer P.C. Rocklodge, later he lived at Clonteadmore, Coachford. Two of his daughters - Mary Murphy & Mrs Lyons reside in a new Cottage at John's Cross. This cottage was completed in 1937.
