A '' fast '' spittle rubbed to the wart, every morning for nine mornings in succession is believed to cure warts.
Rubbing them to cement for the same period is also supposed to cure them. Another good cure for warts is to cover them with the milk of a
'' milk thistle '' or Dandelion. This will cause the outer skin of the wart to burn just as a chemical (caustic) would. The wart will become smaller and smaller under its action and in a short time will be burned away.The inside skin coating of a hen's gizard is supposed to cure warts if rubbed to them. And the last cure we have is perhaps the most superstitious. Rub a piece of fat bacon to the warts and then wrapp it up in paper as a parcel.
Throw the parcel on the road. Whoever finds the parcel and opens it will take the warts.The local cure for toothache is to take some of St. Mogue's clay and rub it to(continues on next page)
