  1. Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday.
    It is a great custom to make a feast of pancakes on that night This is done because it is the last day before the seven weeks of fasting in Lent.
    Shrove Tuesday is generally called pancake Tuesday.
    At Shrove there is also a feast of eggs, and at Easter there is a feast of chickens. There are not many customs on Shrove Tuesday.
