  1. The cure is in the family of the Byrnes. The present 'doctor' who has the cure is Johnny Byrne of Clonmore.
    To effect a cure he prays over the patient and breathes on the sores (it is not absolutely necessary to breathe on the sores). This has to be repeated three times (on three different days).
    The prayers said are a secret in the possession of the one Byrne. These secret prayers are given to the next when the existing one is on his (or her) death bed & the order of succession is that a man passes it on to a woman, a woman to a man & so on from generation to generation but no one but a Byrne can get the secret. The secret prayers need not be handed down to one of the same family.
    While the cure is in progress nothing must be rubbed to the shingles and no intoxicating drink can be taken. No payment is taken as that would destroy the effect:
    The cure never fails & people of all religions come from far & near.
