- on the 6th January 1839, the was a great storm. It knocked roofs of houses and trees in Lanesboro. The fish of the Shannon were blown out miles on the lands in Formoyle.
There was a great thunder storm in 1903. It killed cattle and sheep on the lands of Formoyle.
There was a thunder storm in 1933. My father and mother were praying. The lightning killed many people in Lanesboro. - There was a hedge school in Carrastrawley Lanesboro about sixty years ago. The school was beside the site of Dan Dowd's house.(continues on next page)
