Fermoyle Farrell and Fermoyle Newcommon. Two landlords named Farrell and Newcommon owned the village, and each part was named after its landlord.
Three of the inhabitants are over eighty in Fermoyle. They know no Irish nor do not tell stories.
There is a ruin called the "Six Chimneys" in Fermoyle. A man named White used to live there. When he left it travelling folk used to steal sheep and cook them in that house. The tenants complained to the landlord and he got the house unroofed. It was four storey high. The ruin now stands on the land owned by Pat Rhatigan of Fermoyle.

  2. My Townland is Blenavoher, so called because it is situated in a low hollowed place. It is in the barony of Longford. There are eleven families altogether. The population is 43.
