  1. Once upon a time a man named Lynch lived in Ballymore. He went to Australia to make a living. When he was there some time, it is said he killed a man. The spirit of the man haunted him continually Everywhere Lynch went, the ghost followed him.
He returned to Ireland. One evening he was coming home from Ballinacargy with a friend of his, a Tom Casey. They had to pass through a bog. Suddenly Lynch heard the sound of horses' hooves and he was terribly frightened. He put his arms around Casey and shouted "Save me, save me"
Casey had a Scapular in his pocket ; he put the string of it round his friend's neck and saved him.
Lynch made his peace with God that day and received Holy Communion the following morning. The ghost ceased to haunt him any more.
