    Six mags gold,
Seven mags a secret that never shall be told.
When the cuckoo sits on a bare thorn, sell your cow and buy corn.
When two rainbows are seen in the same townland, someone will die in that townland that year.
If you break a looking-glass, you will have no luck for seven years.
If a sod falls from the fire, you will have a visitor.
When the cock crows into your face, you will have bad luck.
When a moth is flying round you, you are going to get a letter.
When the cock crows in on the door, a visitor is coming.
when sparks fly into your face, you will have bad luck.
If you let a knife fall, you will have bad luck.
If you hatch a young goose, you will lose a four-footed animal.
If you meet a red-haired woman, when going to the fair, you will have bad luck.
If a spider is creeping on you, you will get a new coat.
If you fall off a stool, you wont get married.
If a small horse-shoe is hung over the door, it will bring good luck.
If a frog or a rat enters the house, bad luck will come to the house.
