    Johny Mc Cann used to sell laces, and pins, and studs, and other small things. The country people used to give them an egg or a penny or some little thing. They put up a tent of wood and an oil-cloth cover and sleep under it.

  2. Many tramps go round about this country. A man named Páid Murry comes to our house and many other houses also. When he comes into our house, he stays for about an hour.
    He goes round in a cart. He sells boot laces, and hair-oil, and pictures and many other things.
    Sometimes he gathers rags, and bottles, and horse-hair. He lives in Bailieborough and he is about fifty years of age.
