  1. There are seven graveyards in my parish of Kilmessan, in Scurlogstown, Tribley, Balsoon, Assey, Claddy and there are two in the village of Kilmessan. All these except the new graveyard in Kilmessan are round in shape.
All of them have ruins except the two in Kilmessan. Here there is a Catholic Church at one and a Protestant Church at the other.
There are people still being buried in those placed except Tribley which is just a round enclosure without tombstones or trees. I think Claddy is the oldest of the seven graveyards I have mentioned. The little river which is mentioned known as the Claddy enters the Boyne just beside the burying place. There is a little bridge crossing the river here and it is said to be the first bridge of stone to be built in Ireland.
