- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)his name was Hickey and he had alot of potatoes. When he was sowing the potatoes he found out that he had not the amount of seed that would sow the ground he had prepared, and he was ashamed to leave it unfinished and so he closed up the drills without see and the potatoes grew as well in that place as where he had the seed sown.
There used to be people going around and they would dig the garden for all the potatoes that were left down. During that time the beggars were more numerous than what they are now because they were not able to pay their rents and the Landlords put them out of their lands and they had to beg for their food.
