  1. (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
He went home and went to bed. He was very anxious to know what the dog was at. So when it broke for day he got up and took a pick, spade and a shovel. He went to the tree and began to dig at the roots of the tree. He was gone down through the earth when he saw a flat stone and he pulled it up and under it. He saw a wooden box. Then he leaped with joy and said to himself he was going to have a great time for he said it was gold. He opened the box and in it he found a slip of paper which was drawing out on it a man two horses and a plough under it was written "work this and you will make money."

  2. Bill Orchard and a parish priest was going along the road and they saw a horse-shoe on the road. The parish priest said to Bill Orchard pick up the horse shoe and Bill said education is great. I wouldn't know that from a mare's-shoe.
