Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Travelling folk often call to my house. The same people come nearly always. One old man always comes and we have a name on him "Slate-house." He is very simple and innocent. When he comes he always gets tea. This old man is very poor and sleeps in a shed of hay. He doesn't sell small articles. Some old men are welcome but others are not. They nearly always look for food such as bread, butter, eggs and milk. They all go single except the tinkers and gipsies. The "Carthys" are the tinkers that come our way and in Summer they come. The tinkers use vans for travelling around and a travelling man uses nothing except a stick for keeping his feet from getting tired. This old man travels a great deal and he bets horses.
