    queer clothes, colour their faces and go around from house to house singing an old rhyme :-
    "The wren, the wren the king of all birds.
    St Stephen's day he was caught in the furze.
    Up with the kettle and down with the pan.
    Give me some money to bury the wran"
    One of them carries a holly bush on his shoulder. A dead wren is tied to this bush and it is decorated with coloured ribbons. They go from house to house collecting money all day and when evening arrives they go home and divide the money. Then they hold a dance or if there is any dance in the parish they go to it. St Stephen's Night is a favourite one for dances and parties
