  1. A Ghost Story.
There is an old house on Mrs. Mc Carthy's land in Shanacloone, a townsland in the parish of Cappamore. It is supposed to be haunted. This house belonged to Ryan (Vors's) long ago. One night John Ryan (Vora) was coming from a wake at one o'clock in the night. He had to pass by this house. He heard the banshee crying and was followed by a black dog
He ran all the way home. He told his story to a lot of boys who were in at his house gambling. The boys fixed to meet next night at his house. They went to the haunted house at one o'clock but they neither saw nor heard anything.
    Mary Butler.
