    There was a dyin'g woman,
    She delayed for a while when she heard we were comin' ;
    We listened with joy
    To the prayers she was hummin'

    Some fell on the way side,
    Some courted a stranger
    Tom Ryan he told us our case was a failure
    She was not dead I dont know what delayed her.

    Though being disappointed,
    we called into Miss Brennan's
    We there had some tea
    And sweet cake up from Jenning's

    Tis a long time ago
    Since we waked Pat and [Moilly?] ;
    Like wise [John?] and James
    Not forgetting poor Kitty.
    To miss that great wake
