    from a toothache, they went down to the Abbey and walked seven times around the cloisters and each time kissed a little statue that is carved on one archway of the cloisters.
    When people suffer from a boil they got a herb called "Hemlock", they dug up the roots and all, and boiled them, then they put this up to the boil like a poultice.
    Other people use a bottle with a wide neck. Into this they pour boiling water, then pour it out again. The air must be kept out and the neck of the bottle then put over the boil. The suction of the cold air trying to get into the bottle will draw all the poison from the boil. If a child drinks the milk left after a ferret it is said that the child would be cured of "whooping cough".
    If a goose or a gander breathes into a child's mouth it would be cured of "thrush". If a child is put sitting between a donkey's front legs it would also be cured of "Thrush". An ointment made of soap and sugar and then heated and applied it is supposed to break the boil and is supposed to draw it also. People also visit holy wells and
