- There are a lot of places around here called after certain things. These are:-Carraig a' Mhadhra which is a big round rock in the lands of Thomas Cahill, Ballyhoman, Askeaton, Co. Limerick. Carraig-a-Mhadhra means "The rock of the Dog". It is at the east side of the bog.
Móin na Rúineis a field in the lands of Thomas Cahill, Ballyhoman, Askeaton, Co. Limerick. There is a well in the field and a very steep hill. There is part of the bog in that field also.
Doyle's Rockis a big rock in Ballyhoman west, Askeaton, Co. Limerick. It was called Doyle's Rock because it is near Doyle's house. The stones which built Ballysteen Catholic Church were cut at Doyle's Rock.
