  1. Taur in former days known as "Taur Luacra" - the ancient residents of the kings of Munster before they changed to Cashel stands about eight miles from the bounds of three counties, Cork, Kerry and Limerick. Long ago this noted spot in Irish History was the capital of Munster, now a green spot in the middle of the bogland of north west Cork, with the outlines of the palaces, alone, remain to mark the place of this once-historic building. Some time ago there was a Mission in Mt Collins and one of the Missioners Fr R Murphy visited this place and was very disappointed as there was nothing of interest to see.
