  1. In the year of the famine in 18-47-8 there was a depot near Drocad na cacairige [?]. There was a woman named Mrs Brosnan and she used to be drawing water every day with a timber can upon her head. The porridge was only like thick milk and she used not get any payment only as much as porridge that would do herself her husband and her children for the year. After a few years this payment stopped and all her children died with the hunger. It is said that the youngest one was burried in Dan Lanes Cill.
