“Owner, Where Situated, Name, Why Called”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)The Triangular field - because it is surrounded by three ditches in trianguar shape
The Rhootachs - because it is a very marshy place
The Móin Ruadh - because the soil is red there
Scanlon's Bog - because it is a very marshy place and a great place for fowling. About twenty years ago a coffin was found by a man named Hayes who was cutting rushes and there were bones in it. The coffin was as good as new and it was taken to Clouncagh church-yard and buried there. It is not known who was in it.
