    First Monday of the Year:- It is an old custom not to throw out the slop or sweepings on the first Monday of the year. To do so would be throwing out the luck of the year.
    Another custom is not to give milk, butter or any other thing on the first Monday of the year. To do so would mean giving the whole year round.
    Every Monday Morning:- Some people in the district would not give you a live coal (griosach) on any Monday Morning by doing so they would give away heir luck for the week.
    May Day: People do not stir the clay or work in it on a May Day. their usual work on this day is closing in meadows
