    The old people say:-
    Monday for health,
    Tuesday for wealth,
    Wednesday for crosses,
    Thursday for losses,
    Friday for good luck,
    Saturday, no luck atall,
Sunday the luckiest day of all.
Marriages take place in Churches nowadays, but in bygone years they were celebrated in houses. Weddings were also given. All relatives were invited to the bride's house, and they had great enjoyment.
Straw boys frequent marriages also. These are boys that are not invited to the feast, who disguised with straw, come for money and drink. Matches are made at the brides house. Money is given as a dowry.
The old people say that if you:-
"Marry in blue you'r sure to be true,
Marry in green you'r ashamed to be seen,
Marry in yellow you'r ashamed of your fellow,
Marry in brown you'r always in frown,
Marry in red you wish yourself dead,
Marry in black you'r in lack,
Marry in white you'r sure to go right.
