  1. Long ago there were two boys and their mother living together. One winters night the three of them went rambling and when they came home their mother sent them to the well for water for the morning. When they had their cans filled and when they were going home a white cat crossed them and they began to run and the water began to spill and this made them more afraid. When they reached home they had no water at all and they had to go back to the well again.
