- We have a churn at home. It is about two feet tall. It is one foot wide at the top and bottom. The sides are round and we have it with four years.
The different parts are:-
The Dash, Spout, Handle, and the lid. There is a brass label on the churn and on it is written Harver Ford prize churn.
The butter is made three times a week in Summer and once a week in Winter. My Mother does the churning and I help her. The time taken to make a churn depends on the amount of cream put into the churn. Churning is done by hand and Mother and I take spells at the work. The churn dash moves up and down. There is a glass on the lid of the churn and if the butter is not made right pieces of butter will stay on the glass. If the butter is made right the glass is quite clean.
We wash the churn with water so as to clean the cream from the sides of the churn. The butter is(continues on next page)- Collector
