  1. In the year 1928, a ship by the name of "The Treasnas", sunk on the river Barrow, opposite the townland, Charlefield, near Ferrymountgarret Bridge. The ship was heavily loaded with timber. No one was drowned. The wreck has not since been removed from the river.
